Instructions and Information
What hardware do I need to use it?
Any PDA running the Palm OS.
What software do I need to use it?
The Massive Dev Chart for Palm is designed for compatibility with all DOC format readers. If you do not have a DOC reader installed then you will need to download and install one.
What is a DOC reader?
DOC is the only non-proprietary text format currently available for the Palm OS. As an ASCII-based format, it does not require text styles or layout features. DOC readers are programs which will allow you to use any file formatted in this way.
What DOC reader do you recommend and where do I get one?
The important feature that you will need is the ability to read embedded bookmarks. The following open source freeware reader is recommended:
Weasel Reader http://gutenpalm.sourceforge.net
This reader is fast and easy to use and has the advantage of being free. The chart is designed to work in all DOC format readers; however, some readers use non-standard formatting features which can cause parts of the text display incorrectly. For more shareware and commercial options check out: Palmsource or PalmGear.
How do I install the DOC reader and the Dev Chart file?
Follow the instructions provided with your Palm software. The archive is compressed in Zip format and needs to be expanded. Files for 35mm, 120-220 Roll film, and sheet film are supplied separately. You can install any or all of these depending upon your requirements.
