Re: Spur PDX & Rollei RPX-D.

FX-39 has been transferred from Paterson to Adox. The bottle has the half content (volume) now and the price has been about doubled. 4x more expensive and for 0,25€ct/ltr. I can make FX-37 which has been published. AM74 (later sold under L.P. supergrain and under Rollei label RHS) is from 1974 and w...

Re: Spur PDX & Rollei RPX-D.

CG-512 has been invented by Raffay many years ago. It took him 512 attempts in modifications hence the name. Suvatlar in Hamburg is dealing with his receipts. It is also a 24C developer and indeed like Microdol-X Ultra Fine Grain but not the same formulae. Nordfoto is a commercial company only. Thei...

Re: Spur PDX & Rollei RPX-D.

Both Rollei RPX-D and Rollei Supergrain are SPUR products. RPX-D has been made especially for pushing the Rollei RPX-100/400 films. Rollei Supergrain is an almost 1:1 copy of the Amaloco AM74 developer which was sold by Rollei-Maco before 2008 (when Amaloco Photochemicals the Netherlands closed the ...

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?

Good news: Klaus Wehner from Paderborn (Germany) found a synthetic chemical alternative and made a modified Agfa Atomal, ATM-W (Atomal from Wehner). I am getting the new formulae next week in new type HD-Polyethylene bottles but some first tests and curve fittings are already available.

Re: Moersch Photochemie

The disadvantage for Pyro type developers for me is that it is not 1:1 working anymore with my Split Grade system from Heiland. This is due to the colorizing of the negative which is different for each type/brand of film. In the mean time fixed with the Split Grade software V3,2 A where you can add...

Re: Moersch Photochemie

Tanol, Finol. But comparing Finol to Pyrocat-HD(C) it is not so different. And Pyrocat-HD(C) you can also use in rotary development. http://gallery.fotohuisrovo.nl/thumbnails.php?album=10 The disadvantage for Pyro type developers for me is that it is not 1:1 working anymore with my Split Grade syste...

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?

it has been substituted with a colour developing agent in the Adox A49 developer. Yes, Calbe used para-Phenylene Diamine in their A-49. Hans Windisch found in WWII the ortho- Phenylene Diamine , less staining and less poisoning then the para version. He made the very well known W665 developer, late...

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?

Old Promicrol can be compared with Agfa Atomal were the same HEAP Sulphate was in. Alternative (more modern) Ascorbic Acid (Vit.C) type developers: FX-50, Ilfosol -S/-3, Xtol, Fomadon Excel W27 or PC-TEA. As far as I know only PC-TEA has a long shelf life of approx. 2-3 years. All, other type Vit.C ...

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?

Hi Ian,

Maybe we can exchange some chemicals. I am interested to compare the original Promicrol and the home made material.

Best regards,

Robert

Re: Rollei RPX 25 in HC 110

HC-110 and a slow speed film is too steep in contrast. You should use a low contrast type developer or a semi-compensating developer type for RPX 25 in harsh light. Even Rodinal/R09 in 1+50 or 1+100 is already pretty contrastly for this film. It is very fine grained but not much less if you are used...
