Victor Jorgensen

Post by KennyE »

Victor Jorgensen...., is one of many famous photographers, he is best known for that famous VJ Day photo "Kissing the War Goodbye". But since his death in 1994 renewed interest in his work has surfaced. Because Victor Jorgensen was indeed one of the best war time photographers of the United States Navy's Aviation Photographic Unit, during World War 2.

Archives of his work and thousands of his photos are at the University of California Santa Cruz. These photos will soon make their way into many of the nation's museums and Maritime Museums, through out America.

These photos will help to tell the story of America's Greatest Generation. To be a visual record of their deeds, their sacrifice, and their willingness to stop the terror of Hitler, Tojo, and Mussolini. The photos will let the world remember and recall; that the World's Citizen Armies for freedom, is a force to be reckon with and not taken lightly.

I thank you, and God bless the United States of America, and the World
