Maco (Stapelfeld-Hamburg) bought the brand name Rollei for their new production films.
They have two production locations:
1) Filmotec (former OrWo, Wolfen-Germany) for their R3 (in fact a TSF), PAN 25 (a modified NP15 OrWo) and the Ortho 25 film.
2) Gevaert, (Former Agfa R&D lab, Mortsel-Belgium) for the IR820/400, CN400 pro (C41) scanfilm and the RSD (slide direct), based on microfilm and Agfa direct dup film technology.
Their FORMER Maco IR820C was an extended Efke 100 film sensitized till 820nm. This patent is used (or misused /images-not-allowed// src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.//gif//" alt="8)" title="Cool" /> ) by Efke Fotokemika nova to produce their own IR film now.
In the mean time Ilford has re-introduced their SFX (in fact also a TSF). But I thought available in 35mm only now. Same like the Kodak HIE: 35mm only.
Rollei/Maco will introduce their own new type iso 100 extended IR film based on the APX100 and then to approx. 850nm. This new IR Rollei film will be also produced by Gevaert. Available in 4x5", 120 roll film and 35mm in about 2 months.
The Rollei IR820/400 is still available in the same formats. But for this IR film you NEED a 695nm or 715nm IR (black) filter. A SFX (Ilford) filter or Hoya R72 or Cokin 007 (720nm) is also OK.
But with a HIE you will get wood effect with a dark RED filter. The same filter will be possible with the new Rollei IR (850nm) film. This film is MORE sensitive in the IR area.
This new iso 100 infra red film will be also available in our Fotohuis program soon.
