Instructions and Information
How much does it cost?
This version of the Massive Dev Chart for Palm is supplied as donationware. If you find it useful please make a donation ($5 recommended). A lot of work goes into compiling this data, so any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated and will help support continued development of the chart. What hardware do I need to use it?
Any PDA running the Palm OS.What software do I need to use it?
The Massive Dev Chart for Palm is designed for compatibility with all DOC format readers. If you do not have a DOC reader installed then you will need to download and install one. What is a DOC reader?
DOC is the only non-proprietary text format currently available for the Palm OS. As an ASCII-based format, it does not require text styles or layout features. DOC readers are programs which will allow you to use any file formatted in this way. What DOC reader do you recommend and where do I get one?
The important feature that you will need is the ability to read embedded bookmarks. The following open source freeware readers are recommended:CSpotRun http://www.32768.com/bill/palmos/cspotrun/index.html
LionDoc http://www.lionscribe.com/LionDoc.htm
Weasel Reader http://gutenpalm.sourceforge.net
These readers are fast and easy to use and have the advantage of being free. The chart is designed to work in all DOC format readers; however, some readers use non-standard formatting features which can cause parts of the text display incorrectly. The readers listed above allow you access to all of the features of the charts. For more shareware and commercial options check out: Tucows Pilotzone or PalmGear.
How do I install the DOC reader and the Dev Chart file?
Follow the instructions provided with your Palm software. The archive is compressed in Zip format and needs to be expanded. If you have problems opening the file the please consult the manual for your decompression software. If you continue to have problems or don't have a suitable decompression tool, then download the free Stuffit Expander for Mac, PC or Linux. Files for 35mm, 120-220 Roll film, and sheet film are supplied separately. You can install any or all of these depending upon your requirements.I've followed the instructions, but it doesn't seem to work?
The fault almost certainly lies with your DOC reader or software installer, so please consult the appropriate manual. The file has been tested on all of the DOC readers mentioned above. How often will the Massive Dev Chart for Palm be updated?
Updates will be issued about once a year, or more often if new films are released.
