Re: Kodak ColourPlus 200

I used a cassette of 2011 dated Kodak Colorplus 200 rated 125ASA in my 'Gift' Canon EOS 1000Fn and processed it in C41 and it came out great ! I had it in a freezer for years -- it was a 'Free Replacement Film' from a local chemist shop that used to take in Colour Film for sending to a lab with a 3 ...

Latent Image Regression with ILFORD PAN-F ---

I have had lots of film sent to me by a fellow member of the Pentax User Site which had been in his loft UNDEVELOPED for YEARS ! I managed to get good results on AGFA APX 100 using Liquid PROMICROL 1+14 for 12 mins BUT all his 3 cassettes of ILFORD PAN-F + were BLANK -- I tried ONE first in the Prom...

Re: Developing Kodak Technical Pan

I was given a load of the 35mm and 120 rolls but only recently got round to using it. I tested the 35mm first as a short length and used my 'Very Old Dark Brown RODINAL' 1+30 for 10 mins @ 20oC and got good negs -- I COULD have rated film at 40 ASA even instead of 25, So I loaded a 120 roll in my 19...

Re: Developping Expired Ektachrome P800/1600

I was GIVEN a load of Fuji RMS film which could be up-rated from 100ASA -- it is dated 2002 and I have kept it cold in freezer for years . I rate it 64 ASA -- do not 'Push' as it is not 'Fresh' any more and have it processed 'NORMAL ' and it comes out great. What happens with Slide E6 fiml is that o...

Re: Low Down on Dilution

Many years ago in 'Practical Photography Magazine; the staff did some experiments on the 'FFDD' technique ' Fast Film Dilute Developer' and diluted D76 / IDii 1+4 and gave 45 mins time and reckoned they could uprate films massively. They did HP4 or was it HP5 to 1600 ASA .

Using VERY OLD 'RODINAL' !!

I developed some outdated 11/1992 ORWO NP20 in some 'Dark Brown RODINAL I have left in the original plastic container , 1+50 for 15 mins @ 20oC and it was under-developed though the last time I used it it was OK -- so I had a look -- I decanted the RODINAL into a beaker , about 180 mls left and ther...

Taking up the 'Old FP3 Challenge'

I was sent a cassette of October 1952 Ilford FP3 to see what I could get out of it. I did a short length test first and found it was 10 ASA. I used Crawley's Formula FX-4 1974 version 1+1 for 9 mins @ 20oC but it was over-developed so CUT time to 7 mins for following tests. I also tried 'Acutol-S FX...

Re: Continuing Experiments with 'FX-4'

Yo Keith !! well -- I find FX-4 is good for outdated films-- it gets good shadow details, low fog level and diluted as I use it. good 'acutance' and I have fun making it up ! I know some people say that 'Three Developing Agents Metol, Hydroquinone and Phenidone' are not necessary but Good Old Geoff...

Continuing Experiments with 'FX-4'

I have been doing a lot of processing using Geoffrey Crawley's FX-4 Formula ( 1974 version ) . I found it is good for outdated films. I have used it diluted 1+1 and 1+3. For ORWO NP22 dated 1993 ( 120 size) and 1992 ( 35mm size) I found for 1+1 dilution 8 minutes 15 seconds and for NP20 35mm 7 mins ...

Re: Is my Microphen formula correct?

yrs -- that IS the Formula I was given many years ago together with the 'Perceptol' one -- I have used it but as i have NO Tripolyphosphate I use de-ionised water as used by Wife for her Steam Iron, not our 'Hard' tap water here in Essex. I use it diluted 1+1.

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?

Here i a link to all my 'Promicrol' results on my Flickr collection -- there are a couple of print scans of prints from negs done in the 'Original Powder' version years ago when i worked at May & Bakers in Dagenham and could get it free --- but most are from the Liquid Formula and I have just a ...

Re: Anyone tried the new 'Promicrol'?

So sad to read Kenny -- I was an 'only Child' so never knew about Brothers or Sisters -- I was always a bit 'lonely' but got used to it -- lived on my own for 10 years from 1973 -83 when my first marriage broke up -- coming home to a cold dark house with my Chinese Take-away meal --
