Re: Rodinal, its true story and formula.

Re: Fuji discontinue Neopan 400

If this is your regular film, buy as much of the existing stock as is practicable for you and store it in your fridge/freezer. It's always disappointing when a film is discontinued.

Re: Is my Microphen formula correct?

By the way, Phenidone is used in Micro-PHEN (hence it's name )and requires hydroquinone as a super-additive agent. Phenidone on it's own has poor keeping and produces very low contrast without it.

Re: Is my Microphen formula correct?

Re: selenium toning

I have only ever used Sistan as a final rinse for FB papers, never for films. I just use a normal wetting agent diluted with distilled water for films.

Re: selenium toning

The differences are very subtle on MG-FB paper with selenium toner, but can cause slight colour shifts with other papers. My own preference is to wash the paper thoroughly and to use a final rinse in ADOX AG-STAB which was formerly known as Agfa Sistan. This solution also slightly enhances the densi...

Re: Rollei/AGFA Superpan 200 Development

Films in the ISO 400 speed group are capable of very good quality enlargements when exposed and processed properly. Popular films are Kodak Tri-X, Ilford HP5 Plus and Fuji Neopan 400. There are others too, but these films are very good. Try Ilford FP4 Plus if finer grain is required. FP4 Plus is ISO...

Perhaps a slightly weaker dilution would be better such as 1+4 or 1+5.
