Re: bergger pancro 400 120
developed first roll today, D-76 1:1, for 17' @68 degrees f. This is Bergger's recommended time for this combo. I thought it a bit long, but figured, oh well. Negs came out perfect, by my estimation. Previewed them on V500. How they wet print may be a different story.
A few observations: the backing paper and printing is identical to UFX400 and Delta 100; fix time is six minutes with rapid fix, no hardener. They also recommend a water presoak of at least one minute, a practice which is pooh-poohed by some darkroom workers.
I may comment on grain after I print a few frames.

Re: bergger pancro 400 120
just finished second roll of the bergger. since this is an entirely subjective review, take it for what it is worth.
the first roll was developed in d-76 1:1 for 17'. thought this was rather long, but that is what the instructions say. fix for 6'. again, for rapid fixer, a long time.
negs a little grainy but not too bad. nothing special there. a little base fog.
second roll was exposed in GS-1, all in auto exposure mode, with a Y-2 filter. developed in HC-110 1:120 stand for 45'. now we're talken'.
negs still had a little base fog, but exposures really sparkled. (both rolls exposed at 400) good hilite detail and shadow detail, if you are really interested in the shadows; I am not usually but it was there. still have not wet printed yet. been battling a sinus infection. scanned only.
This is definitely a game-changer film. better than tri-x or hp-5? maybe. it does have a different look than those two. I have been shooting UFX-400 for last couple years with so-so results. though the bergger is a little pricier than the others, I think I will add it to my arsenal of black and white film.
Bergger Pancro is made be inovis (sp) in Germany. I will speculate that they also make the UFX-400. Both good product, but quite different.
All I can say is, give it a try. Always glad to see a newfilm on the market place.
