I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A NEW PAPER DEVELOPER BECAUSE I FEEL
THE DAYS OF KODAK DEKTOL ARE NUMBERED.
I ORDERED A FEW PACKAGES OF ARISTIDOL. I MIXED THE FIRST PACKET AND IT WORKED OUT WELL. WHEN I MIXED THE SECOND PACK
PERHAPS 6 MONTHS LATER, THE DEVELOPER WAS BROWN AND INACTIVE.
I THEN ORDERED THEIR "PREMIUM" POWDER DEVELOPER. I FILLED 4 QUART BOTTLES WITH THE STOCK SOLUTION. WHEN FIRST MIXED, IT WAS VERY NICE. I LOVED THE STUFF. NOW ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER, I WENT TO THE SECOND BOTTLE AND FOUND IT WAS YELLOW AND HAS LOST SOME ACTIVITY. SO IS THE THIRD AND FOURTH.
MY DEKTOL STOCK SOLUTION LASTS MONTHS IN BROWN QUART BOTTLES.
HAS ANYONE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES?
THANKS

We are manufacturing and selling a new paper developer which is a superb product. If you are currently using Dektol, then the version of our developer you want to try is Tektol Neutral. You can read about it here:

and further technical details are available here:

I would recommend anyone who is looking for a new paper developer to try Tektol Neutral or Tektol Standard. The claims we are making for these products are not hype and these developers are built to provide the highest quality, low toxicity and both long shelf life and long tray life.

don't know anything about the silvergrain stuff, as it is quite new. ryuji is probably the most knowledgeable chemist working with photoproducts these days, at least from what i have read on other forums.
anyway, my standard paper dev is LPD from ethol. i recently got some PF 130 but haven't had a chance to use it yet.
