Hi,
I read that Ansel Adams used selenium toner to increase the density of negatives Does anyone have the exact recipe (dilution, time, bleach ?...). Or is the a better way to increase density of film ?
Thanks !

"In our tests w/selenium we have achieved the equiv of a 1-zone density increase at about Values VIII or IX, w/almost no density changes at Values I or II. The procedure was to soak the neg. thoroughly in h20 and re-fix it for several min. in a PLAIN hypo solution. It was then placed in selenium-toner solution diluted 1:2 or 1:3 with Kodak HCA for about 5min, followed by plain HCA (working strength) and washing. One advantage of this process is that there appears to be no increase in grain size, unlike many other intensifiers, making it especially useful with roll films."
