SLAVICH PAPER UPDATE

Post by rolleinut »

A few weeks ago I posted a question to see if anyone had tried the SW-FB Slavich paper. After about 80 hits and zero replies, I ordered some Slavich paper.

I used to just love the old Kodak Medalist paper made thousands of prints. I later used Arista SW FB bromide paper and that was also very nice. I love the look of FB and appreciate a shorter wash time than DW.

Well, now the results of the Slavich. It was much nicer than I had expected. It is a colder tone than either the Medalist or the Arista. I purchased a grade 3 and found it as contrasty as most other grade 4. I would order grade 2 next time. The blacks are really intense. The surface of the ulglazed glossy is very nice. I used my OC filter but later see on the package it calls for a red safelight. Didn't see to matter.

All in all, I am happy with the product and plan to order more soon.
