Of course... One more... Why not... First Readyloads, now Quickloads.

Now I have to backpack with 20 film holders.

Very angry...

Hey, stop posting those links, the Leica MP (A la carte) is far too tempting and highly likely to drain my savings account. :x

Unfortunately, 35mm negs don't enlarge to 20x24 very well.

Folks have been trying to sell me on Leica cameras for years. Someday, I'll have to see what all the fuss is about.

I wouldn`t sell your LF Cameras, but you might find the photographs of the late James Ravilious of interest.
http://www.jamesravilious.com/
He used to use a Leica M3 camera and preferred the old non-coated Leitz Elmar (3.5cm & 5.0cm) lenses to the newer multi-coated lenses for aesthetic reasons. His film stock was Kodak Tri-X rated around E.I.250 and slightly under developed in D-76, 1:1. He felt that the non-coated lenses gave a much better tone-gradation than the newer lenses, which he felt were too contrasty for "contre-jour" lighting. I have seen some of his prints in an exhibition and they are very good. They are enlarged around 10"x15" inches and although some grain is noticeable when looking close, it doesn`t affect the crisp definition of the subject matter.

Putting this thread back on topic, there may be a glimmer of hope for owners of Readyload and Quickload film holders.

They are interesting, considering that I've been moving away from uncoated optics. Occasionally, I do have need of a 35mm camera for more "candid" images, where mirror slap would be a problem. A leica would fit that bill. That said, I can't afford one.

Also, I read about the refillable Quickloads on LF.info, and it seems like a good thing. Apparently, they need some startup money.

$1500, not $500.
