Requesting these features to be added:

Variable Start delay

Allow the user to go back in the app while developing so that they can look up their new development times/dilutions to begin mixing chemicals for the next batch

I want to add a wash cycle between my fixer and my hypo clear steps. Can't do it...?

The idea of a variable start delay has been added to our list for possible future inclusion. Thanks!

In terms of allowing the user to navigate in the app while a timing phase is active, this is problematic for a variety of reasons, but we will also add it to the list of items for possible future inclusion.

The Darkroom Lab Timer (http://www.digitaltruth.com/apps/darkroomlabtimer/) will allow you to add a Wash step prior to Hypo Clear.

In the Massive Dev Chart Timer app, you can edit the Fixer phase so that "Fixing A" is the Fixer step and "Fixing B" is the Wash step you want to add. Although you will not be able to label "Fixing B" step as being a Wash, it will work effectively to allow the functionality you desire. You can see how to do this in the User Guide here: http://www.digitaltruth.com/apps/mdc/md ... t.php?temp

I have just downloaded the Darkroom Lab Timer app, it looks to be just what I want. Thank you for developing it.

Could I add a request for a feature (or two)?
- 5 or 10 seconds before a timer is due to expire would it be possible to add the pips as an audio reminder?
- when showing the timer in red/green 'mode' the programme title vanishes, could this be shown too?

Thank you for posting, your input is really helpful.

The agitation sequence includes 3 seconds of audio pips each time it is about to commence, so you could use this feature to warn you that the alarm will go off by invoking it just prior to the end of the timer sequence. Because agitation can be set in this way, there is a potential conflict if we add the ability to warn you 5-10 secs before the timer is due to expire; however, it is a good suggestion so we will discuss this with the software team and add it to the list of feature requests.

Regarding the disappearance of the title in safelight mode, this was designed to limit the amount of light which is emitted in this mode, but it is not consistent across all platforms so we will add this to our list of issues to investigate further.

Massive Dev Chart: for rotational methods

What is the recommended settings for the Agitation section to suit rotational development like in the Jobo CPE 2?

Some times in the chart are for use in a Jobo processor or are specified for use with continuous agitation. This information is posted in any applicable Notes which are listed on the Timer screen. If the time you select does not specify Jobo or continuous agitation, then you need to make your own adjustment. The rule of thumb is to reduce the time by 15%, so you should edit the time following these instructions and save it to your My Times database for future use: https://www.digitaltruth.com/apps/mdc/m ... l-edit.php. Bear in mind that 15% is just a rule of thumb and different film/dev combinations will require different adjustments based on trial and error.

Hello again,

While trying to setup a programme in the app, it doesn't appear to be possible to delete it once it has been created. I couldn't find any option or a menu to do this - please correct me if I'm wrong here. I thought that setting all the times in the timer might do it but instead the app crashed when I try to select that program. I deleted and re-installed the app and it works just fine again but of course I had to re-install my programmes. If you consider another round of development, perhaps you might consider this?

I must say that I am very happy with the app, it gets used a lot!

Thanks,
Nigel

Hi Nigel,

If you are referring to how to remove a time from the My Times database, then in iOS you need to click Edit and a red (-) button will appear allowing you to remove the entry. In Android, the (-) is visible without needing to enter the Edit screen. If you require additional support, please contact us by email or open a support ticket via the Helpdesk: https://www.digitaltruth.com/helpdesk/

Best regards,

Ah yes! Sorry for the question. I had completely missed that.

But I do have an further question: Would it at some point in a future development be possible to edit the names of the stages? I am interested in using the timer for alternative processes as well and the later baths after development are frequently referred to as a 'clearing' bath. Whilst the times can be programmed into existing stages such as 'wash', it would still be nice to see 'wash 1' and 'wash 2' for example via an edit.

Allowing the phase names to be changed would cause problems with importing and exporting the data and make the export file incompatible with other users. The app is designed for all levels of users and adding the ability to change the phase names could cause complications for many beginners. We have another app for more advanced users which includes 25 phases (including multiple wash steps) and although you cannot change the names, it is unlikely you would have a processing sequence which could not be fully customized: https://www.digitaltruth.com/apps/darkroomlabtimer/
