Agfa MCC and Rollei Vintage

Post by pirateoversixty »

Somebody on Photo.net saw Agfa MCC listed on Macodirect.de, and asked if it was being made again. I checked and also saw that they were selling a paper labeled Rollei Vintage. Any clues?? Perhaps Robert V. could give us some insight into this.

Maco bought the remaining stocks of Agfa film and paper. From what I understand, they bought the whole run. Rollie is selling off some of that stock.

Adox in supposed to be introducing an exact copy of MCC in September.

Rollei Vintage is Foma paper and the Fomabrom Variant (2005) has been made on the MCC layer which comes from Agfa Photo. Well in fact from the same supplier (Schöller) in Osnabrück but Foma got the material very cheap because Agfa Photo was in bankruptcy.

Rollei-Maco bought in 2005 the whole APX100/400 film material from Agfa Photo in bankruptcy and put it on 35mm, 30,5m/100ft and on 120 roll film. It has been sold as Rollei Retro 100/400 but the stock is now on it's end.

Best regards,

Robert (V).

Do you suppose Merko has anything up his sleeve with regards to producing a new version of the APX films after he gets squared away on the new Agfa paper?

Well you have to ask Impex themselves about this issue.

The idea of new APX films get batted about a bit at APUG and last I saw, they were waiting for the supply of 35mm to get sold off so Fotoimpex could produce a new run. right now there's still too much 35mm out there and a profit could not be made by making new film.

eBay is the only place I know where you can still find it.
