Kodak Tri-X pan 400 AND Kodak Plus-X pan 125 B&W developing

Post by Silkyplus »

I had some film left over from awhile back that was black and white. I thought I would use it for the "Push" assignment, I used Kodak Tri-X pan 400 Instead of using ASA 400 as per the film type, I used ASA 1600 for a 2 stop underexposing of the film.

I then used Kodak Plus-X pan 125. Just a regular shoot with ASA 125. (Both films are expired.)

I went to this website for information on develping chemicals I have Ilford ... and timing etc. but the website of http://www.digitaltruth.com does not have a listing for either of the above films for processing and/or what the "exact or correct" developing time would be for the"Push" assignment done with the Kodak Tri-X pan 400.

Can anybody out there help me with the information I need??? :?: :?: :( :?

Which Ilford developer do you have? There are times for pushing Tri-X with a lot of developers, so you may want to recheck the chart. If there is no specific time listed, then you should click the link for "Push Processing" shown on the left of the page at http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php for a starting point.

What do you mean 'assignment'? Anyway, you cannot 'push' film. It doesn't work. It remains underexposed no matter what you do. If you need higher speeds, use a faster film.

read the post, orny. the op said "push" assignment. to me that means using a faster film to duplicate an extended developed film is not an option.

Pushing doesn't work. All you get is more contrast and grain. In what sense is this an 'assignment'?
