film developer Edwal FG-7
Does anyone know if this developer is still being made? If not what would you recommend as a replacement.
Re: film developer Edwal FG-7
It is, in fact, discontinued.
I found a discussion about making it oneself on Photrio, <https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/r ... it.115178/>, and the TL;DR on that is that it used chlorhydroquinone, which is kinda nasty, kinda hard to get, and kinda expensive.
They also say that FG7 is inspired by Champlin #16 (Edwal 36), and there's a recipe for that.
So I guess that you might try Champlin #16 or Edwal 36, but it's not the same.

Hi there,
Edwal FG-7 is long gone. It was a great all-around developer, but unfortunately, they stopped making it a while back. If you're looking for something similar, I’d say HC-110 is probably your best bet. It’s a little more concentrated, but gives nice sharpness and low grain.
