Hi all,
I'm not an expert photographer but my university provides a darkroom, so I have started to get in this world.
Unfortunately I made a mistake: I used a Ilford FP4+ 125 while my camera was set at 400 ASA. The developer is a Kodak "XTol".
Could you please recommend me the time of developing I should apply?
thanks a lot
paolo

Champion 'Promicrol' is very fierce at it's recommended times but you should get 400 ASA out of the FP4 OK.
Got COMPUTERISED and 'slightly Digitised Pentax K10D' but FILM STILL RULES !

I agree with Pete that promicrol offers a solution but with grain, however it is getting difficult to obtain. According to my local stockists Champion are no longer producing in the UK and he cannot get supplies. Just when I've settled on it as my standard developer with HP5 and delta 100. I rate them at box speed and develop at 1+19 for 8 mins and 7.30 mins at 24C. and get good grain and sharpness. However they can't make much profit when I only use 12.5 mils per film and a litre lasts a long time.
