VC Filters

Post by Auds »

I am printing BW prints with a colour enlarger (Kaiser 7000). Using VC paper, does anyone know the conversion to create each paper grade using the magenta and/or yellow filter from the enlarger?

Thanks

Kaiser enlargers use Durst colour filter values. The approximate paper grade values for colour enlargers using either Durst or Kodak values will be supplied with the photographic paper.

I don't bother trying to match 'grades' with filters; I just stick in about 30 Magenta to start, do a test strip, then put in more or less Magenta, usually never need any Yellow to make softer contrast, just the magenta. I use a LPL C7700 Pro for colour and some VC printing but I was also GIVEN a Durst B/W enlarger up to 6x6 format with filter drawer and I have used some Multigrade filters in that.
Got COMPUTERISED and 'slightly Digitised Pentax K10D' but FILM STILL RULES !

Hi Auds,

If you search through the technical information for color enlargers made by various companies you will come across some conversion charts, and can apply these to your Kaiser 7000. The following links all contain useful info and should help you determine starting points:
