HC-110 dilution calculation

Post by Tcaddle » Sun Aug 05, 2018 9:40 am

After checking many different films, it appears that the dilution calculation for tcaddle hc-110 is inopperative. Have other users noted this or am I doing something wrong?

Dilutions for HC-110 are expressed as letters, not numbers. If you check the Note attached to each HC-110 dev time you will see the numeric equivalent when mixed from concentrate. You can modify the data for the film/dev combination you require by replacing the letter used for the dilution (eg. Dilution B) with the numeric data and save this in My Times database for future use. The calculator will work with numeric data. Hope this helps.

Hmm. Compared to the other developers dilution calculation that seems a bit clumsy. Oh well.

Kodak prefers to use the letter for each dilution as the product has historically been sold in different formats and can be mixed from stock or concentrate.

Yes but every other one of your developers has an associated dilution calculation. Dilution B has been 1:31 for the 50 years that I have been developing film. You make a specious argument.

Kodak has always used letters for the HC-110 dilutions. This is their methodology and you can still make a stock solution and then dilute this further as a result.
