ROLLEI RETRO 400S
RETRO 400S is the successor to the old Retro 400 (Agfa APX 400 film). This superpanchromatic film has an exposure latitude of practically one full stop over- and underexposure capacity, providing excellent sharpness and contrast, as well as high edge definition. Featuring a tearproof synthetic clear archival base, RETRO 400S has greater archival properties than traditional triacetate based emulsions, and the clear base is ideal for scanning. Available in 35mm and 120 roll format.
Characteristics and application:
- superpanchromatic sensitised with high speed ISO 400
- special coating for an improvement of the transport properties of the cameras
- suitable for daylight and tungsten
- polyester base support guarantees the highest level of archive stability (LE 500)
- spectral sensitization 380 - 730nm
- fine grain and high sharpness for negatives with an excellent quality
- with "non-curling" backside coating to improve flatness
- glass clear PET base, especially suited for digital scanning
ROLLEI RETRO 80S
RETRO 80S is based on the Agfa Aviphot Pan 80 emulsion. The spectral sensitivity of RETRO 80S is expanded into the near infrared range of the energy spectrum. As a result, the film offers excellent image quality through haze, fog and other difficult shooting conditions. Due to the reduced scattering by the atmosphere, images are sharp and well defined. Available in 35mm, 120 and 127 roll format.
Characteristics and application:
- superpanchromatic sensitised with medium speed ISO 80
- special coating for an improvement of the transport properties of the cameras
- suitable for daylight and tungsten
- polyester base support guarantees the highest level of archive stability (LE 500)
- spectral sensitization to 750nm
- very fine grain and high sharpness for negatives with an excellent quality
- with "non-curling" backside coating to improve flatness
- glass clear PET base, especially suited for digital scanning
Processing:
Rollei RETRO 400S and RETRO 80S can be treated like any other b/w film and can be developed sucessfully in all standard developers. For recommended development times, please consult The Massive Dev Chart. To achieve optimal results, a test development is recommended.
